The heart and soul of our business model is carving custom wooden signs through our collaborative sign design service, which provides scale proofs and one-on-one collaboration with a gifted sign designer, so you can approve what you want carved before any credit card charges are processed. Our personalized wooden name signs will be exactly what you imagined your design would look like, because you will have seen proofs rendered to scale - as many as you need to see - in order to approve one for carving. More importantly, we offer these services before any funds are collected because your credit card is only "Authorized" at the time of ordering. Again, no money is collected until you approve the final proof!
All of our custom wooden signs are carved from Real Western Red Cedar, featuring beautiful, fine-grained fiber with warm colors of mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons, and rich sienna browns. Western Red Cedar is a sustainable and eco-friendly material. One of the main reasons Western Red Cedar is considered a sustainable material is that it is a renewable resource. The Western Red Cedar tree is known for its rapid growth rate, with some trees reaching maturity in as little as 20 years. This means forests can be quickly replenished and harvested sustainably without harming the environment. Sustainability is essential today, and choosing materials such as Western Red Cedar for wood sign projects is a step in the right direction. By opting for a renewable, durable, and beautiful material like Western Red Cedar, you can create stunning personalized wooden signs and contribute to a more sustainable future.
In addition to its renewability, Western Red Cedar is an incredibly durable and long-lasting material. It is naturally resistant to decay, rot, and insect damage, making it an excellent choice for outdoor use. Cedar timber is highly rated because of its resistance to decay. Western Red Cedar is favored for many outdoor products. Garden decking, fence posts, and hand-split Western Red Cedar shakes will last a hundred years on a roof. It's True! Consider the Totem poles from well over a hundred years ago.
Because weather conditions don't significantly affect Cedar's natural structure, you do not need to treat it to maintain its integrity. Over time, however, the color of cedar will slowly weather to a silver-gray, and the grain will become raised. While this appeals to some applications, finishing the wood and maintaining a refreshment cycle for the finish are smart. Our wood signs are finished with our proprietary green finish system, which emits zero VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and is formulated to enhance the natural durability and appearance of Western Red Cedar. It is cedar oil-based, can protect and preserve graying for many years, and provide a rich satin finish, enhancing cedar's natural beauty thanks to its unique sun-blocking, UV protection. Our formula also contains antimicrobials that resist the growth of mildew and algae, water repellents, and wood preservatives.
Our wooden name signs will retain their warm colors when you refresh their original oil-based cedar finish with our Cedar Honey - CEDAR HONEY-Finish Refresher.
