The Cedar Sign Company is a private, family-owned business that has brought the timeless beauty of carved and personalized custom wood signs to life for 60 years! Based in the beautiful land of 10,000 lakes, in the heart of Minnesota, we hand-craft every carved wood sign for home, cabin, camp, farm, lodge, and bar using traditional techniques and modern finishing chemistry that has been honed, and refined over time and generations. Have you ever been in a situation where you didn't know what it was you wanted, but would know it when you saw it? Hair styles, for instance, or car colors. To our way of thinking, that is what has now evolved in the carved wooden sign business. While much of the machine carving of wood signs seen today using CNC tooling and equipment is to be admired for precision, there are many downsides to these clever tools in sign design, available art, and more importantly, resolution and detail. These systems are costly, require complex coding, and limit collaboration to favor simplicity of design.

This sustainable wood ensures your sign will gracefully weather the elements for years. Our stunning engraved, custom wood signs are all finished for exterior use with our proprietary, cedar-oil infused (Thuja plicata - essential oil) for beautiful, rich coloring of mellow amber, reddish cinnamon, and rich sienna brown. Our Proprietary techniques are evident in our carvings and every piece of lumber. We do a lot of carving - we have been for 60 years! We leave the natural grains, small, tight knots, and unique patterns undisturbed. You won't find us at carnivals or craft fairs! Our signs have distinctive beauty, natural durability, and centuries of proven performance -- (the cedar, not us!)
