BARREL WOODEN NAME SIGNS
The first barrels were designed in 350 BC and are shaped to be rolled like a wheel, but can also stand upright and remain stationary. Even though barrels are remarkably watertight, there is always a slight loss of volume due to evaporation while wine or another distilled spirit is aging in an oak barrel. The evaporated portion combines water and alcohol. It is called the "Angels Share". Winemakers account for this loss and monitor the capacity of the barrels.
These wooden name signs and our Collaborative Sign Design Service offer scale proofs to help you see what you want before any credit card funds are collected. Each wood sign is as distinct as the individuals attracted to the appeal of handcrafted and personalized carved wooden sentiments. Treat yourself or purchase a Gift Certificate for a loved one (allowing them to design their sign with the help of a graphic designer) for any of our custom wood signs.
All of our engraved wood signs are crafted from Real Western Red Cedar with beautiful, fine-grained fiber and very tight knots—if at all. When we craft signs 11 inches tall or less, we engrave them from ¾ inch cedar, while signs taller than 11 inches are custom-made from 1¼ inch laminated cedar (similar to butcher block or bowling alley lanes) for added strength and stability. Our hand-crafted, engraved wood signs will maintain their warm colors, which range from mellow amber to reddish cinnamon and rich sienna browns, if you refresh the original cedar oil-based finish with our exclusive Cedar Finish Refresher. Use it every summer. Your wooden name signs will "Gracefully Weather a Lifetime"! ™
