All of our wood signs are crafted from Real Western Red Cedar with beautiful, fine-grained fiber and very tight knots, if at all. When we create signs that are 11 inches tall or less, we engrave them from 3/4-inch cedar. For signs taller than 11 inches, we custom-make them from 1-1/4-inch laminated cedar (similar to butcher block or bowling alley lanes) for extra strength and stability. Our hand-crafted, engraved wood signs will maintain Red Cedar's warm colors—ranging from mellow amber to reddish cinnamon and rich sienna browns—if you periodically refresh the original cedar oil-based finish with our exclusive Cedar Finish Refresher.
