All of our custom wood signs are engraved onto Real Western Red Cedar with beautiful, fine-grained fiber and very tight knots - if any at all. When we carved signs that are 11" tall or less, we engrave them from 3/4" Cedar, and the signs taller than 11" are custom made from 1-1/4" laminated (like a butcher block or a bowling alley lane) Cedar for additional strength and stability.
