The practical reasons are that this roof line allows for more expansive buildings, shorter rafters, and the avoidance of taxes for a long time. Our custom wooden signs have more room for text and an image if desired. You might even consider adding Legacy Plaques that include brass hook and eye hardware hangers or a short brass chain, as necessary, for balanced suspension below this sign. All of our wooden signs are crafted from Real Western Red Cedar with beautiful, fine-grained fiber and very tight knots - if at all. When we craft signs that are 11" tall or less, we engrave them from 3/4" cedar. Signs taller than 11" are custom-made from 1-1/4" laminated cedar, similar to a butcher block or a bowling alley lane, for added strength and stability. Our handcrafted, engraved wooden signs will retain their warm colors, ranging from mellow amber to reddish cinnamon and rich sienna browns, if you refresh the original cedar oil-based finish with our exclusive Cedar Finish Refresher.
